The University Hospital of the Saarland, Homburg

On the premises of the University Hospital of the Saarland in Homburg, the new development of the Clinic for Internal Medicine is almost finished. The Clinic specialises in the areas of oncology, cardiology and radiology.

The new building on five storeys accommodates laboratories, training rooms patient wards and rooms for intensive care. There is also a helicopter landing pad on the roof. The new construction plan makes perfect use of the existing space as well as streamlining the necessary treatment sequences.

The modern interior architecture is adapted to the day-to-day work in the clinic and designed to support the recovery of the patients as well as the work of its staff. The well-conceived lighting plan, supported by panoramic windows and colourfully designed rooms, ensures that its areas are bright and open.

Hospitals have specific requirements for their electrical installations with respect to both functionality and hygiene. The classic LS 990 switches made of Duroplastic do justice to these requirements. The material remains stable and robust against the disinfection agents used in hospitals.
