Prizes and awards

To maintain our high standards in quality, technology and design, we regularly measure ourselves against the best in our field. And we have done this successfully as proven by our numerous prizes and awards. We thereby ensure that JUNG remains an innovative and premium supplier in the future. We strictly adhere to our guiding principle: progress as a tradition.

ICONIC AWARDS 2018: Innovative Architecture

The focus of the "ICONIC AWARD: Innovative Architecture" lies on the integrated presentation and interplay of the functions within the context of the architecture.
With this in mind, the new JUNG switch design LS 1912 was awarded the winner in the product category by the renowned expert jury. Based on the JUNG switches of the early years, the rocker switch LS 1912 gives the mechanics of the switch a completely new feel. The switchgear is designed so that the cover sits flush with the frame. Only the rocker lever stands out from the unit as a style element. JUNG has transferred its many years of experience in metal processing to the fine selection of materials – from aluminium to stainless steel and brass to shiny chrome.

Universal Design Consumer Award

The IUD (Institute for Universal Design) regularly advertises the Universal Design Competition, an innovative design competition for companies, start-ups and students. The submitted products and services are assessed by a jury of experts and consumers according to the criteria of broad, simple and intuitive usability, cross-generational handling and the avoidance of a stigmatising design. The classic JUNG switch LS 990 in Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier fully meets the requirements in the view of the jury and therefore received the Universal Design Consumer Award 2018.

German Design Award

The premium prize of the German Design Council: since 2012, a prize is awarded every year to high-quality submissions from product and communication design which are all pioneering in their own way on the international design scene. The German Design Award counts among the most recognised design competitions in the world.

The competition places the highest demands on the determination of its winners: using a unique nomination process, only those product and communication design achievements which stand out due to their creative quality are invited to participate.

The jury of the German Design Award is composed of design experts from a wide range of disciplines. They come from economics, teaching and science and are recognised authorities in their fields.

Innovation Award for Architecture + Technology 2016

At light+building 2016, LS ZERO was presented with the “Innovation Award for Architecture + Technology”. It was the 17th time that the architectural trade magazines AIT and xia Intelligent Architecture have offered the “Innovation Award for Architecture + Technology” as a prize. The competition is aimed at designers and manufacturers of innovative products from the fields of lighting, electrical engineering and building automation. LS ZERO received a special distinction in the category “Products of high architectural quality”.

The judgement of the expert panel read as follows: “The LS ZERO modular system is an integrated series of switches and sockets which is flush-mounted in walls and furniture and can simply be attached onto conventional flush-type boxes. Special frames enable precise insertion in plaster, drywall or wooden surfaces. The system is particularly striking because the low-key design can be inserted seamlessly into its environment and thus forms a unit with the surrounding room”.
