Mountain Hut, Südtirol

Rising out of the cliff

Participation in an architectural competition allowed the architects at Peter Pichler Architektur in conjunction with architect Pavol Mikolajcak to design the commission for a mountain hut at a height of 2,000 metres in the Italian Dolomites.

A mountain hut with restaurant arose directly next to the Oberholz lift station in Obereggen. The whole hut is made of wood: The façade is in larch, the furniture in oak, and the structural elements and interior are in pine. The cantilever structure of the hut projects out of the mountain and integrates into the surrounding landscape due to the colour scheme. On the outside, a large terrace invites the visitor to linger with great views.

The classic LS 990 switch from JUNG in stainless steel integrates perfectly into the design of the hut and impresses with its high quality and clear shape. The classic form of the switch with its narrow frame fits harmoniously into any surroundings.
