E20 apartment building, Pliezhausen

Exposed concrete monolith

The E20 apartment block from the architects Steimle in the small town of Pliezhausen is surrounded by 50 centimetre thick, insulating concrete walls. The six-sided base that looks like a distorted honeycomb shape provides an exciting alignment of the living units and varied views. The gable walls running together in a point set the apartment clearly apart from the surrounding buildings.

On the inside, the rather cold, exposed concrete harmonises with the warm tones of wood. The switches from the LS 990 range underline the lineal design of the apartment building. The electrical installation integrates perfectly into the interior design in the colour white.
